Our Wildgarden Journey

Updated: Jun 21, 2023

It has always been our passion here at TK Flowers to become fully sustainable when it comes to our Florist Business.

We endeavour over the next few years to be able to grow and utillise a substantial portion of the flowers from our wildgardens which are in three locations across North Kerry.

The adventure began in March of this year, when the TK Flower Team sourced information from the amazing Juliette of Liscahane Nurseries in Ardfert. She was a fountain of knowledge and steered us in the right direction with our vision of growing our own flowers and what flowers to begin with.

From here we gathered a bunch of willing friends and family members who were so helpful in helping us with our journey from rotavating the land to planting the bulbs and seeds. We would be nowhere without the support of friends and family ! Below is a look at our first week of prepping the wildgarden locations.

Ten Weeks On And we have seen so much progress with some of our flowers already blooming and others that will be ready in a few weeks.

Our Gorgeous Lupines and Ox-Eye Daisies are gaining popularity with our customers in our recent floral arrangements. Not to mention our Sweet Williams Blooms and Pink Carnations and Gladiolus"!

Continue to Follow us on our Journey of Sustainability. Where we hope this will reduce the environmental cost of our products and helps the local biodiversity also!

We will keep you up to date with our Blooms!
